BDL Mill receives SHARP certification from Utah Department of Labor & OSHA
July 13, 2004 - Lee Ellertson, Commissioner of the Utah Labor Department, presented Salt Lake City's BDL Mill with the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) Certification in a ceremony at BDL Mill's headquarters.
Accepting the certificate were Bud Bailey of Bud Bailey Construction and BDL Mill, David Grubb, Jr., President of Bud Bailey Construction and BDL Mill, John Capener, Vice President, Risk Management Services, Swinerton Incorporated, and Wade Obermann, Vice President, Safety, Swinerton Incorporated.
Larry Patrick, Utah Occupational Safety and Health Administration (UOSHA) Administrator, presented the award plaque to Lacey Cameron, Safety Manager, Swinerton Incorporated, and Steve Parry, BDL Mill Production Manager.
Welcoming those in attendance and providing introductions was Robert Newman, SHARP Coordinator for UOSHA. Joining him in the ceremony was Mary Lynn, Regulatory Consultant Program Manager Federal OSHA - Region 8, along with OSHA Consulting Manager Louis Silva.
Members of the BDL Mill Production Safety Committee include: Aaron Lowder, David Syme, Mark Spurgeon, Carlos Herrera, Marcelino Martinez and Lacey Cameron.
OSHA's SHARP encourages and recognizes excellence in occupational safety and health at fixed worksites.
